The Lindenhurst High School Marching Band performed the National Anthem at the LI Ducks game at Citibank Park recently against the Somerset Patriots, under the direction of Band Director Kevin Pike. After the performance, students watched the Ducks slam the Patriots, winning the game by scoring 10 runs.

The 2009-10 Eastern Local High School Marching Band has had some of the biggest successes a band from that school has had in a long time, according to Band Director John Cooper.
The band is the first in a long time to earn scores of "2" or "Excellent" during all its competitions in a given season.
In a Nov. 18 telephone interview, Cooper said while some bands he had directed in the past started out slowly in the season with lower ratings and worked their way up higher, this year's band was consistent

The Lincoln High School Trojans marching band will host its school's 33rd annual band review Saturday.
The event begins at 7 a.m. and continues throughout the day at A.G. Spanos stadium at the school, 6844 Alexandria Place.
More than 5,000 students in 40 bands will compete in several events, including parade, drum line, concert band, jazz band and field show.

The future is now for the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps, which opens defense of its 2009 top 12 Drum Corps International finish with its first audition camp today.
Director Fred Morris expects more than 100 to report to Laramie Junior High by 6 tonight, including some 17 from Wyoming — nearly three times the number of home-state Troopers a year ago.
"By Sunday, they'll be playing the open to the show," Morris said.
